The Chicago Clubbers (31 wins - 13 losses) were ranked 6th in Illinois and 57th Nationally for the 2006 Summer Season, this according to USA Sports Rankings.com!

Over the years many players have worn the Clubbers-Elite uniform. During the Spring 2007 IHSA State Playoffs the Clubbers Baseball Organization, had 9 legacy players participating in the 2007 IHSA Sectional Playoffs! No matter how you slice it, that is quite a start for these young men. There were 16 high school teams which were competing for the Sectional Championship and advancing to the Elite Eight. Clubbers were on the roster of 25% of these teams. There is no other travel baseball program in the state of Illinois which can boast of the level of success achieved with such a large number of players who are now attending several different high schools. The goal of our program is to develop players who will come out of our system with the best potential to achieve success in high school and beyond.

The following Clubber alumni players were listed on their respective high school team roster for play in the 2007 IHSA Sectional Championship and also reached the varsity level of high school play in their Sophomore year. Congratulations! They are listed below in alpha order:

According to some..........."Arguably over the years the Clubbers teams had some of the most talented players in the state of Illinois!"

You will get NO Argument from us! We know the Class of 2009 field inside and out! Our assessments have been more than proven with successive Top Ten Illinois State Rankings for the Clubbers-Chicago elite teams. Now with the recent emergence of Clubbers players on several of the top High School teams in the State of Illinois this only underscores the talent that was looming. Many veteran Illinois baseball observers have long felt that the Illinois ~ Class of 2009 is one of the best in years and is loaded with baseball talent. We concur.

We can recite the height, weight and many significant stats of our players. We might even be able to tell you what their favorite top 40 music selections might be! Read the Clubber Clubhouse game reports from past years as they project out many years in advance the kids who are playing the game today in high school. The Clubbers-Chicago have been running tournaments for over 5 years at the University of Illinois and have hosted over 1,000 baseball games on these fields. We have seen some of the best in the area and the Clubbers-Chicago web site is a data base of valuable All Star caliber player information.

HISTORY

The Clubbers have always played one of the toughest and most aggressive schedules of any travel team in the state of Illinois. There is lots of baseball rivalry on the baseball diamonds of Northern Illinois and some games featured a lot of love and hate. The Clubbers always enjoyed playing Peter Gabriel during our game inning intermissions and "Shock The Monkey" has been one of our favorites. Many teams left our field shaking their heads and wondering just what had happened. Some of the most heated rivalries have been with area suburban power house teams such as the Arlington Longshots, the Berwyn Bulldogs, the Lombard Launchers and the Schaumburg Seminoles. Every Spring/Summer/Fall season, the Clubbers played 80-90 games and participating in more than 10 tournaments.

For example, during the Clubbers 2003 season the team played five of the "Top Ten" teams in the state who were also nationally ranked teams (Clubbers Record: 5 Wins and 10 Losses). Additionally the Clubbers played 17 of the "Top 50" Teams in the state as identified by USASportsRankings.com. You're bound to get better when you're playing against the best.

Watching the Action From the UIC-North Field Dugout

The Clubbers finished their 2003 Spring/Summer Season with a record of 38 Wins and 39 Losses. One of the highlights of the Clubbers 2003 Summer Season was taking the Championship at the 2003 Windy City Baseball "Summer in the City" Tournament winning five straight tournament games and knocking out the vaunted Arlington Longshots (USA Illinois Sports Ranking #5, Nationally #39), the always tough Hamlin Park-Chicago team, and the McHenry County Hurricanes (USA Illinois Sports Ranking #4, Nationally #39). The team's Final 2003 Season ranking, voted on by Illinois coaches in the 12-year-old boys' division, ranked the Clubbers 29th in Illinois out of 100 state teams as identified by USASportsRankings.com. The Clubbers wrapped up the season playing 2 months in the Suburban Power League, finishing in 4th Place.

In each successive year the Clubbers teams became better and better and eventually became an Illinois Powerhouse team. In 2004 the team broke into the Top 10 Illinois state rankings. One of the all time team highlights was in one of the final games of the 2005 baseball season. The Clubbers celebrated a Big Time win that was overwhelming. The game was played to a full 9 innings and the win was over the vaunted Schaumburg Seminoles. The game was befuddling to the Seminoles and featured many outstanding plays in a TBS featured game played at the University of Illinois-Chicago North Field. That one game really put the Clubbers on the national map as the Clubbers dropped the "Sledgehammer" on the Seminoles and scored one of its all time "Big Time" wins for the program. The Seminoles left the UIC North field shaking their heads and were never to return again! Oh well!

The 2005 Clubbers team was loaded with All Stars and featured Angelo Burrage (RF), Tyler Williams, John Kinsler and Frank Gowder (3B), Ozney Guillen (SS, OF), Uli Ortis (SS, 2B) and Jacob Koehne (SS, 2B), Carlito Ruiz (CF, 2B), Jason Ormond (1B), Ryan Williams (LF), Dai Bowden (OF and EH), Jon Dorsey, (C) and Jack Cinoman (OF).

The 2006 season was the Clubbers most successful season. With an outstanding lineup which included a stellar infield which featured JoJo Moldonado at Shortstop, Uli Ortiz and Carlito Ruiz at Second Base, Frank Gowder and Gabe Henriques at Third Base and Jason Ormond at First Base and Gabe Irrazarry behind the plate, the Clubbers All Star infield was second to none in the entire state. Playing the outfield were Joel Calixto, Dae Bowden, Ryan Williams and Carlito Ruiz. The Clubbers took their show on the road throughout the 2006 campaign.

In 2006 the Clubbers won several major tournaments and were privileged to play several games versus Team Japan both at the University of Illinois - Chicago, Les Miller Field and as participants in the CABA 15-U World Series. The CABA 15-U World Series was played in Crystal Lake, Illinois and gave the Clubbers the opportunity to play some of the top teams in the nation including teams from Puerto Rico, Washington State, the State of Connecticut, Ohio and Wisconsin. The Clubbers encourage every 15 year old player to participate in the CABA World Series.

COACHING STAFF

Coaching has a huge impact on young players, and the Clubbers benefit from some of the best coaching talent in the Chicago area. The Clubber coaching staff works to instill team-oriented athletic concepts and teach advanced baseball skills while reinforcing fundamentals, which form the foundation of our program.

The Clubber baseball organization is pleased to announce the "Learning Life Lessons Through Baseball"© program. Dave Rosene, Head Coach of the 2004 edition of the Clubber Team, is the man behind this new and innovative approach to teaching baseball and its life lessons to talented Senior Youth Players. Mr. Rosene is currently the Head varsity baseball coach at Jones College Prep in Chicago. Prior to Jones he was the Varsity Head Baseball Coach of the Blazers at Marquette High School in Michigan City, Indiana. The Marquette Blazers finished the 2004 season 24-7 and advanced to the State of Indiana "Elite 8." Rosene led the school to its first baseball Regional Championship and its only Regional Title in any boys' sport in his first year in the program! In July 2004, Rosene was named "Outstanding High School Coach in Indiana" by the Michigan City News Dispatch. The whole Clubbers organization congratulates Dave on his outstanding accomplishment! Prior to his involvement at Marquette High School, Rosene was the head varsity baseball coach and the assistant varsity basketball coach at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago. "JP" Carey, the assistant head coach of the Clubbers, was a member of the 2003 UIC Flames varsity baseball team and holds the 4th highest batting average in UIC history. The 2003 Flames team was the first team in UIC history to advance to the NCAA Division I Baseball Regional's in Palo Alto, California with a 39 win record that tied the 2002 school record. The 2003 UIC Flames tied or set several records in 2003 including 39 wins, 630 hits, a .329 team batting average, fewest runs allowed of 219, fewest earned runs allowed of 167, and an ERA of 3.19. The Clubbers are excited about having "JP" as an integral part of the team! And the Clubber coaching staff continues to grow!

We are pleased to announce that the Clubbers have added a hitting coach to the roster. Ted Krga ~ "The Hit Doctor" has joined the Clubber Baseball Academy coaching staff. Krga's background includes coaching at Marquette High School and St. Ignatius College Prep High School as an assistant to Dave Rosene. With Rosene, Krga was integral to bringing the Marquette Blazers their 1st regional title. The Clubbers take their name from the 1959 Cubs' Clubbers,, and being a member of the Clubbers carries with it a number of responsibilities. Each player signs a detailed player contract outlining expectations of them as a member of the team. Beginning in April, the Clubbers will practice at Ed Glancy field on select dates. Located at 3100 South Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Ed Glancy field is the varsity baseball field on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus. We greatly appreciate the support of the IIT Scarlet Hawks Varsity Head Coach, John Fitzgerald. Practices are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons after school from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The team plays most of its home games at the University of Illinois Baseball Field, on the UIC campus, located at the corner of Roosevelt Road and Halsted Street in Chicago, in the shadow of the Sears Tower (see the Gallery for more information). The field is one of the premier baseball fields in Chicago and features a 54' pitchers mound, 80' bases, dugouts, a press box with a sound system, bleacher seating for 150 fans and breathtaking views of the Chicago Skyline. Every home game win or lose is a "Big Time" Clubber experience! Indoor practices are conducted throughout the off-season using the indoor practice facilites at the University of Illinos at Chicago. The Clubbers greatly appreciate the support of Mike Dee, Head Baseball Coach of the UIC Flames.

The Menomonee Clubbers 13 Year Old Team began the 2004 Season ranked 9th in Illinois out of more than 115 teams (as determined by Division Head Coaches and Tournament Directors from throughout the state and tabulated by USA Sports Rankings.com an amateur youth sports ranking system). The Clubbers are also a nationally registered USSSA team in the AAA and Major 13 Year Old Division and will be playing in the elite Suburban Power Baseball League. The Suburban Power Baseball League — the most popular and competitive league for 13-year old Senior Youth baseball in Northern Illinois — is a USSSA sanctioned league.
